I really wanted to send everyone a big, voluptuous bunch of roses—not just because of Valentine's Day but because I genuinely love how human we all are. Don't you?
But the truth is, I wasn’t able to send anything—not even my most recent newsletters over the last couple of weeks. I fell into a little hole of despair and anxiety. It’s been a while since I’ve felt this level of anxiousness, and to be honest, it sucked. But the silver lining? It reminded me of our beautiful humanity and the importance of taking a moment to just breathe.
Feeling Overwhelmed and Anxious? You’re Not Alone
Have you ever felt completely overwhelmed and unsure how to keep moving forward? That was me recently. After being in Sydney at the Parents Babies and Children’s Expo at Homebush, I was utterly exhausted and a little stressed out. It was an incredible experience, but the aftermath felt like overwhelm on steroids.
I was mostly on my own, running my own business with my own strength and knowledge, but I came away feeling less than. Can you relate to that feeling? Like no matter how hard you try, it’s just not enough?
Then, when I landed back at my desk, I realized that my whole system was insufficient to keep me flowing seamlessly from task to task. I’ve had to quickly relearn and unlearn so much, and I know I can do better. It’s a journey, and I can feel that something epic is on the horizon. But it’s also a work in progress.
